The Bugatti Veyron 16.4
63
The Bugatti 16.4 Veyron is the only model currently in
production car manufacturer Bugatti Automobiles SAS. Currently one of the
fastest cars and of most powerful in the world. It is assembled at Molsheim in Alsace.
It has been revealed, mainly at the Mondial de l'Automobile in Paris
in 2000. The first Veyron came out factory in October 2005.
The Veyron is manufactured in small quantities (300 copies are provided at a
rate of about 75 per year in the workshop located Bugatti in Molsheim,
birthplace of the brand and site history of Bugatti. It has been entirely
designed in Germany
by VAG - (Volkswagen Group) and all parts are manufactured by-VAG (Volkswagen
Group) in Europe and assembled a small team of highly
qualified. Five people and three weeks of work are needed to assemble a Bugatti
Veyron. All repairs on motor and body are also in Molsheim. Each car carries a
plate with its chassis number.
It was not intended that the production of the Veyron 16.4 do the Bugatti
Automobiles SAS a profitable company (in the sense of generating profits), but
rather to offer Volkswagen, its owner, a luxury car.
Designed by the VolkswagenDesignCenter, the Veyron has a compact form of bodywork, no aerodynamics, with a length of 4.4 meters, a width of 2 meters and a height of 1.2 meters. The front grille features the horseshoe historical tribute to Bugatti. The car is two colors, the colors can be chosen by the client. The stern is wide, round lights with exhaust central square, and large side air scoops for the engine, including cylinder heads emerge from the body.
The interior is hung with valuable leather, and the dashboard is enhanced by
touches of polished aluminum or corked by location.
At 375 km / h, the car underwent a downforce of 350 kg. The decision to move beyond this speed requires a manipulation of the driver, which should enable him to confirm his knowledge of the danger that such behavior entails. If he believes he can graze the 400 km / h, it must use a second key is placed in the cylinder to the left of the driver's seat. The display should then ask "Topspeed". For security reasons, he must follow a list of necessary controls. In this configuration at high speeds, the body displays a ground clearance of 65 mm front, 70 mm rear. The distribution valves remain closed and the angle of the rear wing is reduced to a minimum (Cx decrease from 0.417 to 0.355): the downforce then approaches zero, in order to minimize aerodynamic drag.
Performance
In the field trials Volkswagen Ehra-Lessien, the Veyron 16.4 has exceeded 400 km / h, reaching an average speed of 408.45 km / h, performance verified by the Technical Inspection Service of Southern Germany The Süddeutschland. This speed has made the production car fastest in the world in October 2005, the Veyron 16.4 has reached 415 km / h on the Great Salt Lake located in Utah, record now exceeded by the SSC Ultimate Aero TT and the Koenigsegg CCXR.
* Maximum speed: measured at 407 kph on the ring gear of Volkswagen in Wolfsburg.
* 0 to 100 km /

* 0 to 200 km /

* 0 to 300 km /
